Authentic Updates on our Pilot Project
Many of you have been with us from the very beginning so we feel it’s only fair that we keep you posted on what’s been happening in the Authentic Days team and how the community is doing. We see local heroes and travellers not only as part of our travel community, but as part of our team since none of this would be happening without you. So a round of applause for you guys, you’re awesome!
Step 1 aka The Pilot – completed √
The past months have been nothing short of incredible! Over the last 4 months we’ve been testing out our Minimum Viable Product. MVP for short. In less fancy terms, we’ve been matching travellers and locals, creating experiences and gathering feedback. We had the help and support of over 150 people from 23 countries joining our community as helpers eager to support our team, hand-picked local heroes wanting to give travellers a more authentic feel of their place and culture, curious travellers looking to truly explore their destination or sometimes all of the above. This is all before we even have a functioning platform so we think it’s pretty damn great!
During this time we’ve had Aha!-moments and WTF-moments, we had surprises and scares, we laughed, we facepalmed ourselves, we patted ourselves on the back, we got praised, we got banned, we got invited to parties, we were kicked in the ass, we were kissed on the forehead, we fell, then got up to celebrate. In other words, WE LEARNED. A lot. Through our travellers, local heroes and the experiences that took place in the Netherlands and Brazil we learned things that we couldn’t have picked up from any book, blog or class. None of this would have been possible without our community’s support and feedback. It means the world to us! And for that, we cannot thank you enough! You’re the best and we have the pictures to prove it!
Moving on Step 2
Now that the MVP is over, we want to focus on learning from your feedback and input, our mistakes and wins and find ways to make this the travel community you can’t live without. To be sure that nothing gets overlooked, we’re now focusing 90% of our efforts into making sure we heard you loud and clear. So don’t think that we’re going away, we’re just a bit busy planning the launch of an amazing travel community built to make you happy. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more news and surprises to come!
And guys, although we finished testing out the MVP, our learning process still hasn’t come to an end! We will always be curious and eager to get your thoughts on what we’re doing. So don’t be shy to tell us. You can just whisper it to me, I won’t tell anyone it was you! Seriously though, drop me a line anytime you have ideas, questions, doubts or funny jokes. Will be waiting at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks again for being part of our Authentic Days community and helping us learn and grow. YOU’RE THE BEST!
I wouldn’t invite you into a community that I wouldn’t want to be part of myself so when I said “hand-picked” local heroes, I meant it! Thanks again for a lovely start of the weekend, Suzanne! Cheers to you!.
